❎ Horizontal directional drilling technology completes the task of laying underground pipelines without destroying the surface environment. However, the practical application of this technology faces the challenge of accurately determining the drilling direction in complex underground environments.
✅ As an instrument that can accurately measure the true north direction, the north finder provides an effective solution to the problem of determining the direction of horizontal directional drilling.
👉 Take the ER-MNS-09 north finder as an example. It is a cylindrical north finder developed specifically for drilling. It is not restricted by the external environment and is not interfered by the magnetic field. It can provide azimuth and attitude information by itself.
👉 It can be used in machines such as HDD tools, gyro tools and underground tunneling machines to reduce measurement errors.

👉 Measure azimuth and attitude angle (pitch, roll) independently. The measurement error of azimuth is controlled within a very small range, providing reliable guarantee for drilling construction.

👉 After startup, it can automatically initialize alignment and then automatically determine the true north direction. The north search time only takes 5 minutes. It can also track and provide attitude information.
🔷 Adapt to harsh environment, stable and reliable 🔷
👉 It can resist strong impact and vibration. The working temperature range of the normal temperature version is 5°C~+55°C. The working temperature range of the high temperature version is 5°C~+125°C.

RTK signal is easily blocked? IMU makes RTK have unlimited possibilities

When you use an RTK surveying instrument to measure in some places with obstructions or requiring a large tilt, do you always encounter weak signals, no signals, or inaccurate measurements?

Now many RTKs are equipped with IMUs to make measurements more efficient and accurate. IMUs can maintain short-term relative positioning accuracy when RTK signals are blocked or temporarily ineffective. A separate external IMU can meet measurement needs more flexibly.

For example, an IMU ER-MIMU-12 can perfectly solve the above problems while improving measurement and stakeout efficiency!

**Excellent performance, automatic tilt compensation**

Equipped with a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer, the built-in gyroscope dynamic measurement range is ±400°/s, bias instability ≤1°/h, angle random walk <0.25°/√h; accelerometer dynamic The measurement range is ±30g and the bias stability is <50ug.

The IMU can be used to perform real-time interference-free and automatic tilt compensation on the RTK surveying instrument, and can perform measurements at large tilt angles. The IMU data is used to sense the device’s attitude changes (roll angle, pitch angle, and yaw angle) and perform tilt compensation.

It can ignore magnetic fields and can achieve accurate measurements even in difficult locations.

**Compact size, easy integration**

The 120mm x Φ30mm cylindrical IMU weighs ≤150g and is very portable.

In some measurement scenarios that require rapid deployment, the cylindrical IMU can be conveniently fixed on a tripod or measuring rod and can be put into use quickly without complicated debugging, saving time and costs.

**Quick initialization and accurate dynamic measurement**

RTK initialization time is long, IMU can significantly shorten the RTK initialization time. You can initialize the internal IMU by walking a few meters and easily start the measurement mode!

Even if the measuring rod is moved, tilted or leveled during measurement, there is no need for tedious calibration procedures and the measurement can be continued immediately while ensuring measurement accuracy.

IMU can make RTK measurement results more accurate, improve measurement efficiency, and expand the application scope of RTK surveying instruments, especially in environments with limited GNSS signals.
